Dr. Eric Freitag is a licensed clinical psychologist and board-certified neuropsychologist, founder and Executive Director of the Mt. Diablo Memory Center, co-director of the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland Sport Concussion Program for Youth Athletes, and a Credentialed ImPACT ConsultantTM.

In 2006, responding to the need for specialized, comprehensive concussion management services for Bay Area youth athletes, Dr. Freitag launched the Sport Concussion Program.  Since that time, hundreds of local athletes have been provided with baseline testing and post-concussion injury management services.  In 2016, Dr. Freitag became involved with the expansion of the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland Sport Concussion Program for Youth Athletes, which now sees patients under age 24 at locations in Oakland and Walnut Creek.

An athlete himself, Dr. Freitag has suffered at least two sport concussions during his long history of sport participation, which gives him a uniquely empathic perspective on post-concussion recovery.  He has experience as a professional and collegiate soccer player, multi-sport youth athlete, referee, and coach. He continues to stay active and involved by playing basketball, cycling, and coaching his children's soccer and basketball teams.
